RIP Paul Maidman.
One of my good friends Paul Maidman was murdered by a drunk driver on April 9th. He was a great friend to many people all across the United States and a brother and son to a large loving family. I met Paul a few years ago working for the Air Force, we instantly hit it off and pretty much went out to lunch everyday for three years. He was always there to help with any sort of problem I had, and looking at his facebook and his relationships with his other friends he was there to help them with anything too. He supported everything I did from coming out to his first hardcore shows to see my band to being a part of the Ghostmaker family. He got out of the Air Force and moved to Las Vegas to live with his sister. I went up there a few times and he would visit Tucson. No matter what time it was he was always willing to hang out or offer a place to crash. I just talked to Paul two days before his death to hear one of his “Team Paul” type stories and even played a few games on xbox. It really leaves you in disbelief when you speak to one of your friends and all of a sudden they are gone forever. Paul was a great person with a big heart and one of the most interesting people I have ever met in my life and as all his friends know he really had the most wild experiences to share with everyone. I have a lot of words to say for the person who took his life but this isn’t the place for that and I want this to be a positive goodbye. I will miss you Paul. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I know the internet has been making this horrible for everyone and I hope the trial will be quick and that justice will be served. You will never be forgotten by us in Tucson.
Don’t ever take your friends and family for granted, you never know when they could be gone.
Please don’t drink and drive, you might take someone special away from all of us.
